On 15 January 2569 (2026) at 17:11, during the first BOI board meeting of the year, the Board approved 7 data center investment projects with a total investment value exceeding 96 billion baht, demonstrating strong confidence from both domestic and international investors in Thailand’s digital infrastructure.

🔹 Key investors include:

  • True IDC

  • Gulf – Singtel – AIS Group

  • STECON in partnership with Singapore

  • Investors from Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Japan

🔹 Main locations: Chonburi, Rayong, Samut Sakhon, and BangkokSupporting the development of Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and the digital economy

💡 Key Policy Highlights: BOI introduced stricter new conditions

✔️ At least 50% of executives/experts must be Thai nationals within 3 years✔️ Must promote Thai talent development, the digital ecosystem, and SMEs✔️ Must comply with energy efficiency (PUE) and water management standards✔️ Projects outside the EEC will receive higher investment incentives to promote regional development
