🚗⚡ Thailand Local Content Promotion Measure


Applicable to the Electric Vehicle (EV) and Electrical & Electronics industries


Launched by the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI)

to enhance the overall competitiveness of Thai industries.


🎯 Policy Objectives


✅ Encourage greater use of locally manufactured components (Local Content)

✅ Reduce reliance on imported raw materials

✅ Strengthen Thailand’s domestic supply chain


🚘 Eligible Industries


🔹 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) manufacturing

🔹 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) manufacturing

🔹 Electric buses and battery-powered electric trucks

🔹 EV-related equipment and component manufacturing

🔹 Smart appliances and smart electronics manufacturing

🔹 General household appliance manufacturing


📌 Applicable to new projects or projects still within the corporate income tax exemption period


📋 Key Conditions


1️⃣ Must obtain the “Made in Thailand (MiT)” certification

issued by the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)


2️⃣ Minimum Local Content Requirements:


▶ BEV: at least 40%

▶ PHEV: at least 45%

▶ Electric buses/trucks: at least 40%

▶ EV equipment: at least 15%

▶ Smart appliances / general appliances: at least 40%


📅 Application must be submitted by the last working day of 2026


📅 MiT certification must be submitted before the end of the corporate income tax exemption period and no later than the last working day of 2027


🎁 Incentives


✔ After the original corporate income tax exemption period ends,

an additional 2-year 50% corporate income tax reduction

(based on the normal tax rate) may be granted
